In addition, you'll have to use Luigi's super-jump to damage the antenna on his head.įlopside's Pit of 100 Trials (Wracktail) Flopside's version of the Pit of 100 Trials is identical to Flipside's in terms of concept, but slightly different in the execution. Not much has changed in this incarnation though he is much stronger. It's strongly advised you stock up on healing items before embarking on this journey, particularly ones that can heal poison attacks as well, because if you get poisoned otherwise, it might mean Game Over.īoss of Flipside's Pit of 100 Trials Wracktail, the successor to Fracktail, waits in room 100 for you. Normally its the newest enemy there if there are multiple kinds. Note that you do not have to defeat all of the enemies to obtain the key, but good luck guessing which enemy has it. Each room generally contains a locked door and multiple enemies, one of which contains the key to the door. How does it work? As the name suggests, you'll have to work your way through 100 rooms to reach the goal. ![]() Jump on it to open the way to the Pit of 100 Trials. When you reach the silhouette of the door, flip to 3D and run down the hallway that appears to find a Blue Switch. Point the Wii Remote at the screen to find a series of hidden blocks - click on each one to make it visible, then use them to cross the gap. Now it may appear there's no where to go from here, but looks can be deceiving. ![]() Travel to the far wall and leap onto the top block. Take the warp pipe on the basement's first floor (just before the third Heart Pillar) to the 2nd floor basement. Just expect to level up once or twice during your runs, though, cos that legit saved my ass.Where is the Pit of 100 Trials? There is a Pit of 100 Trials located in both Flipside's and Flopside's basement's 2nd floor, but the access way to the one in Flipside is currently blocked, so you'll have to perform some tricky maneuvers to make it accessible. ![]() One thing to remember, though: while you CAN level up more quickly by attacking everything in sight, you don’t automatically have to… I attacked everything in sight bc I wanted to get the EXP when I did my runs, but that was also me. Be sure you get the HP Plus & Power Plus in Flipside & Flopside tho, bc those will boost you up to 90 HP & 17 ATK. Since many enemies (but not all) attack on sight, it let me snipe most of ‘em.įor the leveling? I’d get to at least level 30, as you’ll have roughly 85 HP & 16 ATK. I did my run with Bowser & Dottie for the most part. (For reference Ultra Shroom Shakes are 300 coins from Notso’s shop, and Power Steaks are 35 coins each from Flopside’s Itty Bits…) Plus, when you get to later levels… you’ll definitely want something that can heal you a LOT of HP.įlipside’s Pit wasn’t that bad, but Flopside’s was tough. I won’t even lie, it was a pain to get all the coins to pay for all of them, but I got a lot of EXP when I got the coins from enemies. But again, it’s been a while, and I tend to play a bit more defensively (and also because I like Peach).Īs far as items go, I got a literal cubic fuckton of Dyllis Deluxes, as they each heal 90 HP. Usually pairing her with Hammer Pixl dude-bro to have a good offense and defense was my strategy. I’m not spoiling anything, but for the Flopside one, in my opinion, Peach is invaluable with her blocking. There is a boss to fight at the end of each Pit. But in general, Bowser is pretty overpowered, I wouldn’t worry too much about leveling, especially since you’re going to gain a bunch while you’re in there. You will need to swap to Boomer in some instances, but also don’t be afraid to use either Peach to block or Barry to parry if you find yourself in a tight spot. Using his fire breath and being able to stomp on spiked enemies (on top of having the ability to go fast) is a pretty good combo. I think it’s been about a decade or so since I played so my memory isn’t perfect on it but I think the go-to strategy is using your hoverboard Pixl, Carrie, I think her name was, with Bowser. Flopside is a bit trickier, but with all the healing, as long as you don’t get hit too much, it’s not too bad. Truthfully the Flipside Pit you don’t have to worry about too much. I think it’s a Shroom Shake and a Fire Burst to make it (you say you have most of recipes so you can confirm if I’m wrong). They normally heal 10, but in the Pits, they heal 50, so they’re very useful. Your best bet is stocking up on Emergency Rations.
