The position will require travel in-state, nationally, and internationally with overnight stays ranging from 4 to 6 nights for conferences/meetings occurring two to four times per year and 1 to 6 nights for other occasional travel. The coordinator reports directly to the department manager. The coordinator will also perform other duties as assigned to ensure continued operational support to the organization and OSU. The coordinator contributes to the planning, support, and delivery of training as well as monthly and semi-annual meetings of the IFSAC organization members, boards, and committees. The coordinator collaborates with staff and liaises with assigned committees regarding accreditation processes and organization rules, ensuring and contributing to compliance, development, and updating of policies and procedures. The coordinator must maintain knowledge of accreditation processes, criteria, procedures, policies, and the organization's bylaws to provide interpretations to and advise applicant entities as well as site visit team members on requirements. ![]() The person in this position coordinates accreditation functions of the organization for fire service certifying entities and fire and emergency related degree-granting programs including monitoring accreditation cycles, scheduling site visit teams and site visits, managing and assigning reviews of accreditation applications, and tracking site visit team member and leader eligibility and training. These entities and programs are located in 42 US States, 10 Canadian Provinces, and more than 10 other countries located in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Africa. IFSAC has issued over two million IFSAC certification seals to firefighters around the world. IFSAC Administration is the operational arm of the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress and is governed by three Boards and has a membership of over 75 firefighter certification entities and over 50 fire related collegiate institutional programs.
